This is an extremely well presented motor yacht. She was built by Cougar Marine for the owner of the company, Steve Curtis who was the 6 time class 1 Offshore racing champion. He owned the boat for 8 years.
The Cougar Advance 41 is a well built and capable vessel which can safely handle the most extreme of conditions.
She was re-engined in 2000 with 2 new Perkins/Sabre MTI 300-300hp engines on hydraulic gearboxes with cable controls giving a maximum speed of 26 knots but she cruises comfortably at 18 knots using 12 litres an hour.
The electrics were also updated in 2000 with 4 24v batteries. There is also a Hyundai inverter generator with remote control.
The accommodation comprises of a master cabin with en-suite heads and a separate cabin with 2 single berths and another heads opposite. Both heads have showers. The galley is a good size and well equipped with a hob, fridge/freezer and combination microwave. The saloon is a good size with lots of storage and the seating converts to another double berth.
This vessel has been well maintained and cared for and is a credit to her owner. Her engines are serviced annually, she has just been anti-fouled and new anodes fitted. If you are in the market for a family yacht with offshore capability please contact me to view her.
