Broker's Comments
Boatshed Cornwall are excited at the opportunity to list this historic yacht. This Hillyard 12 ton yacht was built in 1939 and is a fine example of style and history and is a huge nod back to wooden boatbuilding, the craftsmanship and build quality demonstrated during the late 30’s, with this example.
First impressions were of an historic wooden yacht holding pride of place in a marina alongside much more contemporary vessels. The feel of style, build quality and the obvious history was plain to see. Once onboard it appeared that much has been done to improve the interior whilst retaining the original feel of this yacht. It has been enhanced with modern equipment and a recent engine, so offers the best of both worlds.
There has been a lot done to the yacht in recent years, too much to mention in this brief, yet it has not finished yet. The deck bright work, hull topsides and outer button are planned to be addressed during the summer of 2023..
Registered as an historic ship. If you like the feel and style of a wooden yacht with a contemporary feel and enjoy really lovely features, then this could be just what you are looking for and is well worth a visit.
