About James Kimpton
My introduction to sailing was as crew for my grandfather when he decided I was old enough age 6! Growing up, first on the coast of West Wales, then later the East coast of New Zealand’s North Island I became fully immersed in all things water based.
I feel fortunate for all the fantastic travel experiences I’ve had. One of the most memorable adventures began with the decision to buy a yacht in Mexico and sail the Sea of Cortez which I did from 2013-2015. The concentration of marine diversity in one place is absolutely mesmerizing!
After returning home to Pembrokeshire, I’ve since been lucky enough to join the Boatshed team and now head the Milford branch of Boatshed Wales.
I still spend most of my free time in or on the sea and love exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline by sea kayak, paddleboard or boat.
