The Red Fox was a bit of a revolution in the dayboat/weekender market when she first hit the water about two decades ago. Waterline length almost equal to LOA and twin assymetric lee-boards were a bit of a shock to the conservative British yachtsman. However, the concept surely works and today she looks like a mini maxi - if that makes sense! In complete contrast to my fondness for 'plastic gaffers', she even got my pulse quickening a little at the thought of surfing downwind and overtaking 26 footers to windward courtesy of her assymetrically efficient foils; all with the ability to dry out upright on the beach. This model is just about perfect for day sailing with up to five adults in her spacious cockpit and has comfortable overnight accommodation for two adults and two children. She's had one careful owner from new and could fairly be described as immaculate.
Damn it, I feel another boat buying urge coming on!
