This is not a yacht for the faint hearted!
If you were to purchase this vessel you would become the owner of a piece of our maritime heritage.
Built for the RNLI in 1902 by the London Iron Company, she was sponsored by the town of Oldham and thereafter served with distinction at Abersoch station, North Wales, until 1932. She was a sailing and pulling boat and when she left RNLI service in 1932 she was converted to a pleasure craft and her original engine fitted, we believe, at this time.
Her last owner, recently deceased, began a major refit in 1998 and this lasted until 2004. We are given to understand that her present motor, a Lister, was fitted during this refit, along with hydraulic lifting gear for her swing keel.
She would give the practical boat owning enthusiast a satisfying amount of work, to bring her up to a pleasing cosmetic standard however she is usable as she is. She is reported to sail very well (by a source independent of the vendor!) and could make an ideal live-aboard for someone who wants a roomy and characterful little ship for themselves and, perhaps, their parrot!
This vessel is keenly for sale and is now lying ashore having had a major tidy-up since the first photographs were taken..
