The Bounty II is a very early production fiberglass yacht made by Aeromarine Plastics in California. The hull is hand laid fiberglass plastic laminate of at least 9 layers of woven glass cloth and roving. Up to 18 layers in the lower hull develop a thickness of up to 3/4". No fiberglass mat was used in the construction. The cast iron ballast keel is permanently embedded and encased in the keel. It is separated by up to 1-1/4" of laminate and plastic. Functional components such as the tanks are also structural components. Non-skid surfaces are on the main deck, around the mast, on the bridge deck, and in the cockpit sole.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify dimensions and capacities, which are reported from owner-provided information and/or literature.

Broker's Comments

This Aeromarine Plastics (subsequently Coleman and then Pearson) 41 Bounty II Sloop is a beautifully restored "plastic classic", and is a well-known design by Phil Rhodes. Heavily built at a time when the longevity of fiberglass was not yet appreciated this is one tough boat. She offers a superb mix of traditional yacht design with modern materials, extensively updated equipment, including a newer Yanmar diesel with low hours, and a truly magnificent redesigned and expertly crafted interior constructed of multiple hardwood species.
